About Yu's Garden

Yu's Garden is a taiwanese restaurant in Irvine, California. It is listed at 5394 Unit H, Walnut Ave, Irvine, CA 92618, which places it among the local businesses of Irvine that residents and visitors turn to when they need this kind of service close by.

In cities with a Chinatown, weekend mornings bring dim sum carts or order sheets, and lines form early at the most popular spots in Irvine; walk-ins are standard and reservations are uncommon outside large banquet restaurants. Regional labels matter: Cantonese, Sichuan, Hunan, Shanghainese and Taiwanese kitchens cook very differently, so a restaurant's stated region is a better guide to the food than the word "Chinese" alone. Some smaller restaurants in California are BYOB with no corkage fee; call ahead to confirm. A tip of 15-20% is customary for table service but not expected at counter-order takeout. Spice level, MSG and allergen questions are normal to ask before ordering, and most kitchens are happy to leave an ingredient out or tone down the heat if you mention it when ordering rather than after the food arrives.

The business lists hours on 7 days of the week. On most of those days it is open 10 am–10 pm. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. The listed phone number is (949) 654-2366. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone.

Its Google rating is 4.0 out of 5 from 409 reviews, a solid but mixed picture; reading the most recent reviews will tell you what to expect.

Irvine is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Irvine follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

One of my favorite Chinese (Taiwanese style) restaurants. Food is fresh and tasty and not over salty or oil. Always lots of people that are Chinese (including myself) there so you know it’s authentic. Lots of vegan and vegetarian options. My favorite are the tofu dishes and the cucumber dish!

I have been coming here for years and I love choosing from their delicious trays of cooked Chinese food. There is always a wide variety to choose from. I love that it comes with complimentary rice congee with sweet potato cubes or rice. The chilled soy milk which is usually buy one get one free is also delicious. There is also a friendly lady who always greets customer with a bright smile and cheerful voice. Recently I decided to try their ala carte menu for the first time where you can order fried rice, noodles which is cooked upon order. I ordered fried noodles and soup noodles but unfortunately both were very salty and oily. Both were not up to the standard of their usual cooked food (for pick and choose). I have never seen people order the ala carte menu whenever I dine in, and I suppose this must be the reason why. I recommend coming here for their cooked food options where you can pick and choose to go. But I'd be a little wary about ordering their ala carte menu items (cooked upon order), where the quality seems more variable.

Yu’s Garden is a fantastic spot for authentic, casual Chinese dining. While seating is cozy and limited, the food tastes like a genuine home-cooked mealβ€”the perfect alternative when you don’t feel like spending the night in the kitchen. Their famous Three-Cup Chicken is a must-try, and they offer a great variety of both hot and cold dishes. Highly recommended for anyone craving real flavor!

Best Taiwanese spot in town! For just $12.4 you get to pick 3 dishes for to go! The portions are very big, and all the dishes are very tasty and authentically Taiwanese!

Went here for dinner and decided to do takeout. Ordered the dinner special which mentioned $9.99 for two items with rice, but for to-go they offered three dishes β€” nice surprise! Got the basil chicken, eggplant, and tofu, plus an order of chicken noodles. Service was quick and the staff were friendly. There are a few tables if you prefer to dine in. Located in a plaza with plenty of free parking and other food spots around. Great option for a casual, tasty meal. 80 cents extra for credit card usage.
